I saw this and had to pass it along. It's a very interesting concept, and some of the evidence does seem to be a bit compelling. It certainly wouldn't surprise me given the geographic diversity of the remnants of the Jewish people. There is a new book that goes into detail about it called The Biblical Hebrew Origin of the Japanese People and is available for sale from Amazon.

He said the He would scatter the seed of Abraham among all nations, tribes, and peoples...
I wonder what exactly that means in the physical sense. It's my understanding that they use mitochondrial DNA to test "Jewishness." What does that say about someone who does not have this? Does it even really matter for spiritual purposes whether or not someone has this DNA marker?
Mike - this is an interesting topic (and one which often becomes very UN-PC ;)
...I would start by remembering that the promises were made by God to the descendents of Abraham, Isaac, and then Yakov. (And though the Sripture refers to 12 tribes, they are not always the same twelve. Joseph's sons Ephraim and Manasseh were adopted in, among other interesting issues.)
The terms get confusing. Just as there are "Jews" who are not of the tribe of Judah, there are many others who are of Israel, but not of that tribe.
(The Kingdom of Judah, as opposed to the northern kingdom of Israel, which went first into captivity - the ten "lost tribes - generally consisted of the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi, and a smaller Remnant.)
My guess is that most of us have blood (and thus DNA) that contains at least a bit of the Promise, but He knows for sure.
Ultimately, the physical is of less importance; whether we are "grafted in" to the root, or a literal descendent of Abraham, we can be thankful for having been Redeemed.
My curiosity was piqued because of the possibility that there is a correllation between having that DNA and being saved. That perhaps the people who would be spiritually grafted in would be genetically related distantly to Abraham, even if they are technically not a Jew by ancestry.
That, too, can be confirmed, where He reminds us of curses to the third and fourth generation of "those who hate Me," but a thousand generations of those who love Him...
