While we're talking about Christian fiction...

Does this bother anyone else besides me?

Though the first novel is the great expose of Lucifer, Wendy says it really is God the Father's story, not Lucifer's. She feels that the veil was lifted and she had the Father's permission to reveal some heavenly truths. She studied scripture and added the fictional parts, such as the archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer being brothers.

She had to ask the Lord for permission write this and each part of the book. Wendy was very careful with her choices of writing and where the novel has gone. She always was seeking God's approval on everything.

Wendy wrote it in the fear of the Lord and feels that it is a commission to write these stories. While it's a work of fiction, she wrote it in under the anointing of the office of the prophet and seer, and she considers it a more revelatory work. Wendy would be in a mode of worship and she would write and she would find herself weeping while writing this.

I don't even come close to saying that any of the fiction I write is inspired by God on the level of prophecy. Maybe hers is, or probably isn't. I don't know. It would just bother me to no end if I claimed that it were true except where it overlaps with scripture. What do you think about this, those of you who read my blog and such?

Sounds like she thinks her next door neighbor is god or something...

It's folks like her that give "delusion" a bad name.

I think writing speculative fiction w/ a Christian slant is perfectly legit, w/ the caveat that the speculation remains true to God's Word, & doesn't alter what is known, to fit "artistic" purposes. Having Gabriel, Michael, & Lucifer as brothers contradicts scripture.

Apparently Ms. Alec has no idea what a "prophet" truly is! While I am certain she is a talented writer, her over-spiritualizing this book takes away her credibility.

And Triton's right. SHe's tarnishing the reputation of the truly delusional.

But, the article did state she has spent over a decade in "TV". That's bound to twist even the most grounded person into an egocentric prima donna.

At least, that's what I think!

She says she did this piece under the anointing of God and with His permission.
A question for her: Which God??
If what she says does not line up with scriptures then it certainly wasn't the one True God she was talking with. As the Bible says, "Test the spirits, whether they be of God" as in 1 John 4.

Wes,

I'm curious, which part of scripture does that contradict? Are you suggesting that they cannot be called brothers because angels are, according to some sources, incapable of sexually reproducing?

For starters, let me say that I do believe that G-d speaks to people everyday and that it would be a good thing if we asked Him for His guidance much more.

That being said, what I find is that when people talk about getting permission from G-d, that "god said it was ok" it is always to do something that they know is wrong, hence the need for "permission" so they don't feel guilty

Hmmm, a little red flag always goes up for me when I hear someone speak this way. I'm not saying God didn't okay this work of fiction but to claim to reveal previously unknown heavenly truths is dicey at best.

I'm curious, which part of scripture does that contradict? Are you suggesting that they cannot be called brothers because angels are, according to some sources, incapable of sexually reproducing?

Yep. Since it's a reasonable assumption that they were spirit brothers under God prior to Lucifer's rebellion & subsequent fall, I assume her dubbing them brothers is referencing more than this; perhaps physical kinship in the way that men are siblings. I believe this contradicts scripture.

Matthew 22:30 says this: For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. (emphasis mine)

Mark 12:25 restates this.

If there is no marriage in Heaven, then there is no physical reproduction as we understand it. Thus, angels cannot be called brothers, in a physical sense.

There is a catch there, Wes. Adam and Eve were not "given in marriage" either. There was no marriage in the original state of grace, and the Bible does clearly state that Eve was created as a companion for Adam. Who knows whether or not they had sex before the fall or not. Still, marriage and reproduction did not go hand-in-hand in the beginning either.

I think God intended for posterity to accept Adam & Eve's relationship as a marital union from the beginning. For example, take Genesis 2:18 & 24-25. Scripture dubs Eve Adam's wife prior to the Fall:

18: And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

24-25: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

God also told them in Chapter 1 to be fruitful & multiply. I believe a close reading shows us that God considered Eve Adam's wife, & wanted them to reproduce.

I agree that we draw a blank on whether or not they consummated the relationship prior to the Fall.

After reading & rereading Chapters 1 & 2, my conclusion is that marriage & reproduction did go hand-in-hand, or certainly that was God's intent, at least.
