The Technology Liberation Front has a good post on what most anti-media consolidation activists really want: an end to conservative and libertarian content. It's very telling that rather than be excited, they're deeply upset that a rich businessman has bought up some large media properties and is now deconsolidating his purchase into separate businesses and selling them off.

You gotta feel sorry for a woman who gets paid $180,000/year to keep quiet about having a lovechild with a rich politician. Very sorry, like cry in your $150/bottle Dom Perignon sorry.

Women in the military have a significantly higher divorce rate than women in the general population. The argument, which I agree with, is that the military tends to attract some of the least traditional women in society. Obviously, such women are less likely to take a traditional view on marriage.

The video is kinda blurry, but this shows a bit of what can be done by the new Android platform for cell phones. The touch screen seems to be pretty good on it, which makes me think that if these things come to Verizon that I just might have to get one of them instead of an iPhone (sorry Apple, I hate AT&T more than I like you).

Now that PHP 4.X is no longer being supported by the PHP team, it'll be interesting to see how the WordPress team responds. While PHP 4.X code tends to do pretty well on PHP 5, most web hosts that support PHP don't have PHP 5.0 or newer installed. They also don't plan to do it anytime soon because a lot of things did change between 4.X and 5.X that could break a lot of popular PHP software. So, for the sake of compatibility, they'll have to focus their efforts on a version of PHP that is no longer supported by the PHP team, which is a position that I don't envy.

I am not surprised by the female divorce rate in the military. When I was in the Navy the ship transformed into the love boat when it left the pier.

My dad was activated in the Naval Reserves during Gulf War I. He was on a supply ship; being a non-combat vessel, it's crew had a lot of women who subscribed to the "what goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas" philosophy. Except they weren't in Vegas.

Needless to say, there was a lot of 'splainin to do after they returned home.
