If you need proof that many "science advocates" are in fact nothing more than warmed over atheist bigots, then consider their priorities when it comes to "defending science from unreason." First, you have the feminists who are trying to apply Title IX to science and engineering university departments. Second, you have "animal rights activists" who are engaging in acts of real, violent terrorism in order to shut down the researchers in the University of California system who use lab animals in their research.
Yet you would think that people who want intelligent design to be taught in public schools and homeschooling families who don't even teach evolution at all are the greatest threats that modern science faces if you listened to much of the rhetoric in the spotlight today.

Don't forget the Al Gore's of the world who worship the earth. Seriously though, I do think creation is very important to defend, but I am concerned about other extremists also.
