Saw Tropic Thunder the other day. There I spied Robert Downey Jr in blackface. This post reminded me about all the idiots who squawked over the blackface, not quite realizing that Downey's character was an indictment of caricatures such as that.
But then, it's all about speech control anyway. They scream racism in order to shut down debate over anything substantive or anything critical about the issues or people that they are partisan to.
Interesting, Mr. Wapiti. I've mostly heard the controversy Tropic Thunder generated was over repeated use of the word "retard".
