No potential for abuse there!

Ars Technica has an interesting piece on some legislative activity aimed at controlling the sale of stolen goods online. Some of it actually comes off as half-way reasonable, such as requiring online marketplaces to keep the contact information of the people who sell products through them. Then, the proposals go off the deep end by not only making it illegal for the accused seller to be contacted about the matter by their marketplace, but they go so far as to place an overwhelming burden of guilt on the seller and marketplace at the mere accusation of any retailer.

An unaccountable process wherein someone can merely make an accusation, and the burden of proof is then placed on the accused. What could possibly go wrong?
