Well, now that we've had our share of sociological mutual masturbationcelebration over electing our first black President, it's time to look at what's on the agenda? Ah yes, screwing over many millions of American workers by first taking away the miniscule tax break that they get on their 401k contributions (and even worse, the looming specter of nationalizing 401ks). That's right, they're going to discourage people from taking responsibility for their own retirement because the federal government is losing a whopping $80B in potential tax revenue because of the before-tax contributions that are being made. A number that doesn't even amount to 3% of the federal budget for 2008 is enough to make them consider a very dangerous experiment with our country's retirement system.

You hoped for change, and now you're going to get it good and hard! When you cannot retire because your investments have been robbed the same way that the so-called "Social Security Trust Fund" has been used for general government spending, at least you'll be able to feel warm and fuzzy knowing that it was a small price to pay for putting a black man in the White House and giving him a compliant Congress.
