Iranian authorities have banned the Kargozaran newspaper after it published an article critical of the Palestinian group Hamas. A government spokesman said the article "portrays the Palestinian resistance as terrorists who cause the deaths of children and civilians by taking up positions in kindergartens and hospitals." A people that doesn't respond to the use of its children and infirm as human shields with ferocity and bloodshed, is a people that hasn't just reached the abyss, but swan-dived into it.
I dunno, pretty good tactics IMHO. Seek sanctuary where you know your enemy will not strike and all that.
As for me, I'm a cold-hearted bastard, and if the enemy is taking residence in mosques and hospitals in violation of the Geneva conventions, then I have free license to bomb away.
The problem here is that the European media will hang it over Israel's head like a burning tire. They are practical co-conspirators with the Islamists, and will conveniently forget that it is Hamas who is deliberately putting non-combatants in harm's way with their actions. That and previous western countries who demurred from attacking when other opponents...namely other Islamists and Communists...put non-combatants in harm's way; they let all know that the way to keep a Western government from attacking is to hide behind women and children.
Information is another regime of warfare. And the Israelis have a tough nut to crack, as the media is allied with their enemy. Thus, if I were they, if it means I would have to put some journos in the hurt locker, then so be it. Not too many tears would be shed. By me anyways.
For a while, I've thought that the Israelis should sneak some Druze IDF soldiers behind enemy lines and have them record high-def footage of Hamas using hospitals, kindergardens, etc. as bases. Imagine what would happen if videos of Hamas using 5 year olds and sick people as human shields wound up on Youtube and elsewhere.
