About
I'm a 24 year old Software Engineer living and working in the Northern Virginia area. Graduated college from James Madison University in December, 2005 with a B.S. in Computer Science, and am currently taking classes at Northern Virginia Community College for fun and to see if I still have the attention span to blow money on a masters, now that I've been free from the ivory tower for lo these past two years.
This blog has gone through several iterations, starting in 2002, though I really reset everything and started over in late 2005. In that time I've also g one back and forth between WordPress and Movable Type. I'm fickle about my software, and make no apologies for that (just everything else).
You may notice that this blog frequently talks about subjects that have nothing to do with programming. That's because I nearly became a lawyer instead of a software engineer. Reality hit late in high school that I don't have the temperament to be a lawyer because I'd likely end up either an alcoholic or in pr ison for taking the law into my own hands after a decade or two of dealing with the rot and filth that has infected our system like a cancer.
My musical interests are mostly Christian musicians these days such as Skillet, Kutless, Rebecca St. James and Casting Crowns and Jars of Clay, but I also listen to Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Android Lust, Audioslave, Celldweller, The Gathering, Flowing Tears and Evanescence.
Most of the programming that I have done for work has been in Java and Jython, but I've also done a decent bit of development in PHP and Perl. If I had to , the languages that I could, with documentation in hand, work in are C, C++, C#, ObjectiveC, Python, Perl, PHP, Java, PL/SQL and probably Object Pascal.
